Cancer Wellness Coaching recognizes there is much more to cancer than only what the doctors can see, measure or touch. Therefore, the journey toward healing and recovery must include more than only what happens during visits with your medical doctor.
A DIFFERENT KIND OF COACHING PROGRAM
Innovative Service
It is an innovative service that helps support patients and provides practical skills development to help meet their physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual needs. An effective coach works with their client to facilitate and define realistic goals to achieve their wellness vision.
My goal as your coach is to lead you out of the dark forest of fear and the unknown so you can see the way to a promising healing future, to a place where you can remember this truth: While you may be with an illness, you are not your illness.
Life-saving cancer treatments allow more patients to survive today than at any other time in history. Yet, the long-term side effects of medical treatment and the fear of recurrence many patients live with can significantly impact their experience and quality of life.
You hire a Cancer Wellness Coach not because you don’t know what to do but because you want someone in your corner who has the experience, tools, and skills to help you reach your health and wellness goals.
You hire a Cancer Wellness Coach when you feel overwhelmed, helpless, or stuck. You hire a Cancer Wellness Coach when you feel alone or do not wish to burden your loved ones with your fears, frustrations, wants, and aspirations.
As one client said to me, “I know what I need to do; I just don’t know HOW to do it when everything in my life is in turmoil.”

Focusing on Your Mind, Not Your Body
Cancer Wellness Coaching has many names. In the clinical setting of your medical facility, it may mean helping you sort out medications or setting up your medical appointments. It may also mean helping you change your lifestyle, diet, and exercise routine in a more holistic sense.
This coaching program, however, focuses on the mind rather than the body. It offers you practical tools and techniques to engage the person within the physical body. It will teach you how to harness your mental and psychological resources to improve your experience and, ultimately, treatment outcome.
Illness such as cancer affects us in many more ways than just poor physical health; therefore, healing requires more than only treating the physical aspects of cancer.
Psychological patterns and disruptive mindsets such as trauma and loss, hopelessness, anger, and despair weigh heavily on the functioning of the immune system. A weakened immune system leaves the body vulnerable; thus, illness can more readily develop. These non-physical patterns reside in the part of the mind called the Subconscious Mind, where they can be accessed, recalled, and resolved.
Addressing these harmful Subconscious patterns, which inhibit the functioning of the immune system and the efficacy of medicine, can improve patients’ responsiveness to treatment and their ability to recover. Ultimately, this may help curb the chances of recurrence.
Working with a Cancer Wellness Coach
Free 45-Minute Consultation:
The purpose of this consultation, which can take place either over the phone or through video, is to learn about you and your experience, address your concerns, and help set a realistic timeline and goals.
Coaching is not a form of psychotherapy. You’ll have homework assignments — things to think about or do between coaching sessions, and your coach will hold you accountable for achieving your goals. If you feel that depression, anxiety, or other mental health problems may be getting in the way of realizing your goals, then you may want to talk with a licensed mental health professional before you hire a coach.
Time Frame:
Regardless of the stage of illness, you can benefit from learning how to keep on living successfully with the challenges of cancer. You can transform pain and suffering into comfort and quality of life and advance your progress toward recovery.
If this course of action is appropriate for you, the next step is to schedule a free, no-obligation 45-minute consultation in which we determine the best way for you to benefit from this service. You can call me at 617.564.0707 or email me at Free@AvinoamLerner.com.
